Dear Friend,
I love Los Banos. I was born here, and my wife and I raised our kids here. I worked at my dad’s restaurant and still run España’s. After talking to friends and family, I decided to seek election as mayor again.
My entire life has revolved around our city. Los Banos needs a fresh start. There has been too little transparency and too much finger pointing coming from city hall. It’s time to solve problems, not cast blame. That was the kind of mayor I was when I served our city for 12 years. That’s what our city needs now.
I’m asking for your votes and whether I can put an “Amabile for Mayor” sign on your lawn. Our campaign is personally funded. I am not accepting financial donations from anyone.
Our city government should be as great as our city and its residents.
I humbly ask for your support.
Michael S. Amabile
From The Westside Express:
Some of those on the dais during the League of Women Voters’ candidate forum in Los Banos Sept. 24 wanted to talk about “accountability” and “transparency.” Others wanted to talk about fresh paint, trimmed trees and pickleball courts. ...
When former Mayor Michael Amabile was asked about his vision for a responsible city government, he said: “It’s all about transparency and accountability.”
From Merced Co. LWV YouTube Page:
A Candidate Forum that the Merced County League of Women Voters held on September 26 at the Los Banos City Council Chambers for all city council candidates in Los Banos, CA.
Included in the debate were the three candidates running for Mayor: Mike Amabile, Refugio Llamas and Paul Llanez. The three-hour event drew more than 60 people to the Los Banos City Council chambers while many more watched online.
From The Los Banos Enterprise:
It’s been 12 years since he last served as Mayor of Los Banos, but with the message of “Positive Leadership” and offering “A Balanced, Sustainable Approach,” local restaurateur, Los Banos native and lifelong resident Mike Amabile has decided to return and run again for the seat he once held. The city’s former six-time mayor – the second longest-serving in the city’s history since it was incorporated in 1907 – was first elected to lead Los Banos in 1994 and continued to be re-elected serving until 2006 when he chose to not run again.
